George Tsolis & Friends Quartet

Το διεθνές κουαρτέτο του Γεώργιου Τσώλη ( Georgios Tsolis & Friends ) βρίσκεται στην Αθήνα για την ηχογράφηση του 4ου προσωπικού album του πιανίστα, στα πλαίσια της παραμονής τους στην Αθήνα για τις ανάγκες της ηχογράφησης θα βρεθούν μαζί στο χώρο του Music Hub για να προσφέρουν στο μουσικόφιλο κοινό της Αθήνας ένα απόγευμα με μουσική καθώς και συζήτηση για την μουσική.
Θα προηγηθεί η συναυλία (μιας ώρας) και έπειτα θα ακολουθήσει η συζήτηση με το κοινό όσον αφορά την μουσική της jazz, την διάδραση και την μουσική δημιουργία, οι καλλιτέχνες θα δεχθούν ερωτήσεις, σκέψεις και θα προσπαθήσουν να μεταφέρουν στο κοινό την αγάπη τους για την μουσική αυτή.

Γεώργιος Τσώλης
Ο Γεώργιος Τσώλης είναι πιανίστας της Jazz και συνθέτης , ενεργός στην σκηνή της Jazz απο το 2004 με εμφανίσεις σε φεστιβάλ και χώρους ανά την Ευρώπη και την Ελλάδα, κατέχει τους τίτλους bachelor και master στην εκτέλεση του jazz piano απο την βασιλική ακαδημία της Χάγης στην Ολλανδία όπου σπούδασε και διέμενε τα τελευταία 17 χρόνια.
Ενεργός και ως συνθέτης της μοντέρνας κλασικής μουσικής συνεργαζόμενος με
κορυφαίους σολίστ του χώρου καθώς και με εκδοτική του βάση την Κοπενχάγη της Δανίας (Εditions Svitzer) χτίζει την δική του μουσική γλώσσα βασισμένος στις επιρροές του από την jazz εως την παραδοσιακή και την κλασική μουσική.
Jorge Vistel
Γεννήθηκε στο Σαντιάγο της Κουβάς και είναι “κληρονόμος” μιας μουσικής δυναστείας. Ο Jorge Vistel γνωρίζει τα μυστικά της μουσικής παράδοσης της πατρίδας του και τη συνδυάζει έξοχα με την jazz avant- garde. Αυτό έχει ως αποτέλεσμα ένα σύγχρονο, προσωπικό και αυθεντικό στυλ που παρατηρείται στην τελευταία του δουλειά: Cimarron, που κυκλοφόρησε από την Inner Circle Music. Δισκογραφική εταιρεία με έδρα τη Νέας Υόρκης που ανήκει στον Greg Osby. Ο Vistel ξεκίνησε τις σπουδές του σε νεαρή ηλικία και στη συνέχεια τις τελειοποίησε στην Εθνική Σχολή Τέχνης στην Κούβα. Παράλληλα με τα μαθήματα με τους Steve Coleman, Wynton Marsalis, Nicholas Payton, Steve Turre και Barry Harris, μεταξύ άλλων.
Το 2005 αποφάσισε να μείνει στην Ευρώπη, παίζοντας στη σκηνή με ανθρώπους όπως οι Benny Golson, Roy Hargrove, Doug Hammond, David Murray, Henry Cole, Lewis Nash, Dado Moroni, Benny Green, Marcus Printup, Stefano Bedetti, Gary Thomas, David Virelles. ή Roman Filiu. Με το κουιντέτο των Vistel Brothers, που δημιουργήθηκε με τον αδελφό του Maikel Vistel, επιμελείται το Evolution. Το άλμπουμ κυκλοφόρησε από την Fresh Sound Records. Έχει επίσης περιοδεύσει με το κουιντέτο του Alfredo Rodriguez & The Invasion Parade, με χορηγό τον Quincy Jones. Συνεχίζει την δημιουργική του πορεία με πολλές και σημαντικές
συνεργασίες ανά την Ευρώπη και τον κόσμο, o Jorge είναι ένας από τους εκφραστές της μοντέρνας τρομπέτας στην Jazz διεθνώς.
Yussif Barakat
Yussif Barakat is from Ecuador and he is currently living in The Netherlands where he actively participates as a bassist in the fields of early music and jazz. In 2019 he received his double Master of Music degrees in double bass and violone in classical and early music from the Royal Conservatoire, Den Haag. Yussif has performed with the Netherlands Bach Society, Balthasar Nuemann Choir & Ensamble, and the Orchestra of the 18th Century, amongst others. He was awarded first prize for historically informed solo at the Viennese Bass days held in Amsterdam 2019. He is one of the most active double bass players in jazz , and early music in the
Netherlands his solid groove and sound compliments his creativity and rhythmically advanced attidude on double bass he considers as one of the most authentic bass players in the respective style.
Owen Hart, Jr.
Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. He received his first set of drums at 5 years of age. His formal education in the academics of music started at about the age of 10 with piano lessons. At the age of 12 was the start of his formal studies on drums in the Duval County public school system. Owen continued with this until finishing high school in 1989 at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville. While combining playing gigs with an assortment of musicians and musical situations, he attended Jacksonville University as a Music Performance major. Owen moved to New York in April of 1997 as a result of an extended collaboration as percussionist with the Urban Bush Women (UBW) Dance Company. This experience launched his career further into an international exposure with a tour in Switzerland in addition to other performances in the US. Settled in his Brooklyn residence Owen’s schedule was occupied with periodic rehearsals with UBW, accompanist for dance classes at Lehman College in the Bronx and ‘practice sessions’ with great musicians. Having the evenings free to explore what was happening on the music scene gave him the opportunity to do gigs all over NYC including a steady gig on Monday and Tuesday nights at the “Village Lantern”, a popular hang in the west village. Meeting and playing with the musicians who would pass by and sit in resulted in more valuable playing experience. Among these musicians are some of the people who Owen credits as his most influential collaborators; Rob Dixon, Abram Wilson, Ronald Westray, Gregory Tardy, Benny Green, Vanessa Rubin, Wycliffe Gordon and Ravi Coltrane. In September of 2001, Owen began teaching in the Netherlands at the Prins Claus Conservatorium in Groningen. As a professor in the Jazz Drum department, Owen designed the 4 year curriculum for the Bachelor degree in Jazz drums. In addition, he’s also given workshops and master classes internationally in Turkey, Azerbaijan, Indonesia, South Korea, Colombia, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Curacao, Italy, Slovenia and the Netherlands. While residing in the Netherlands, Owen balanced his busy teaching schedule at PCC with a busy tour and recording schedule with artist such as; Timucin Sahin, Ramon Valle, Michael Moore, Ernst Reijseger, Ernst Glerum and Juraji Stanik. Also including US based artist in affiliation with the Conservatorium; Craig Handy, Don Braden, Seamus Blake, David Berkman, Conrad Herwig, Dena DeRose, Ralph Peterson, Brian Lynch and many others. While residing in Bologna, Italy (2006 – 2007) he collaborated with some of the finest musicians on the scene including, Steve Grossman’s “Two Tenor” Quintet and the Piero Odorici Quintet In addition to some of his prior collaborators. With a variety of musical influences which include; traditional and contemporary gospel, soul, rock, fusion, Caribbean, Brazilian, Cuban and hip- hop, Owen has developed a unique style. His many influences allow him to access just the right timbre, touch and attitude to compliment a vast array of musical situations. You can hear this for your self upon a listen to“Osiris”, from saxophonist Michael Moore or the much different displays of musical diversity on guitarist Timucin Sahin’s“Window for My Breath”.
